Ruth Bader Ginsburg was the associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

She sadly passed away last week.  Although she passed away, her legacy will live on forever.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) was known for the following:

"FIGHT FOR THE THINGS YOU CARE ABOUT"

What is something you feel we should fight for?

Explain how this is important to you?

  1. I think that something we should fight for is is Honesty and truth because is life honesty is really important and when you wanna develop long lasting friendships or relationships its key , but when trust is broken even if someone says it was fixed in the back of their mind they will always have that "scar" of lies that will be there. Truth can also revel things that we could never imagine but its better to reveal that truth now instead of waiting years or even longer to reveal it. That's why we should take honestly a lot more seriously on this planet.

    2. The problem with this is that we’re human Francis, and while in a perfect world this might be possible, it’s near impossible for humans to be truthful to themselves and others, such is the human condition

    3. Very good point Ateeb I do agree in that we are human and that we make mistakes and it does happen that we lie and are untruthful but that doesn't mean it should become a habit.

  2. I think we should be fighting for LGBTQ+ rights because there’s still people that use the word gay as an insult which is very offnsive and disturbing. There are also people that continually use the f-slur which is very offensive to gay people. When being gay was illigal, people used to call cigars by the f-slur. What do you do to a cigare? You burn it. So people used to burn gay people alive so it’s a very offensive thing to say if you’re stright but it’s ok to use if you’re a part of the LGBTQ+ community. In some countries if you shoot a gay person you can use the gay pannick as an excuse which is basically that you got startled that they were gay and shot/harmed them. There are kids that get kicked out of there house for being gay and there are even people that get killed/abused. This is a very important thing for me because i’m bisexual and have been since grade 5 and some people treat me different ehich makes no sense becasue i’m still the same person and so is all the other kids that came out and got crap for it.

    1. I think so too ive seen to many things on social media about people apart of the LGTBQ+ community getting uncoffortable becuase other people are trying to cause them to feel that way also a great thing we need to fight for.

    2. This is definitely something worth fighting for. So many people get disrespected, abused or killed just for being gay or bisexual, etc. You are still the same person as always, just because you have a different sexuality doesn't mean you should be treated different. good job!

  3. I think we should fight for Black Lives Matter more because even tho there was protests and rallies everyone treated this movement as a trend which is really upsetting because black lives are still being killed and people are even trying to start all lives matter as a trend even though all lives do matter its mostly ethnic people being killed or abused... Also people started to try blue lives matter refrencing to police which I absolutly diagree with because people are comparing a color of skin to a job, you can quit being a police but you can not quit being black and there should be no reason to quit being black. Also I know from my little cousins who are fully black that a lot of black kids see their skin color as an issue and think they need to be white and blonde to be pretty which is very sad to look at, ive seen these thoughts not only from my cousins but even some of my black friends told me thats how they used to think which is terrible because at young age there learning little pieces of rasicm already. Overall I hate how black lives matter was a trend, it is not a trend its a lives we STILL need to keep fighting for.

  4. I think we should be fighting for a better president in America. Trump is a bad president. First we thought it be funny because he's the president. Now we have watched as he has brought America to rock bottom in 4 years. Covid is out of control, protest everywhere about different things and now everyone hates him. He's the worst president that ever existed. How could they let him be president. He should go through training or something because he does not know how to run a country.. He should be asked questions like "Listen to the people and do the right choices" or "Go with your gut and see what happens". Like, he really should be asked that. Plus he's very pro white. He is on the police side and even threatens the protesters that he will bring the army in. Like, what the heck. Isn't the government FOR the people? Thank goodness the tides are really turning on Trump.

    4. I agree, Trump should not be the president and if he wins again I am honeslty scared of what he will do with America and more importantly the world

    5. I completely agree with what your saying another thing is that he acts as if America or Trump is taking of the Covid-19 the best in the world with is a complete lie although he said that he's testing so many Americans per day but over 200k Americans have died from it and he's calling it "not a serious issue."

  5. I think we should be fighting for women's rights. Specifically, about how some women get paid less than men to do the same job at some workplaces.
How is this right?! Male or female, you get hired for a job because you are qualified to do it. So, when they pay men more than a women for the same job it is like saying that she is not as worthy as him. This would make me pretty angry in the future. If this happens to me, after going to school for so many years and then getting a job and finding out that a man doing the same job as me in the same office or wherever is making more than me. Ughhhhh.
This is important to me, because everyone should be treated the same whether you're the man or a woman. Your intelligence and how smart you are should not be judged by your gender.

  6. I think voters in America should be fighting for their free speech. Now you might tell me “But ATEeb tHeY alreAdy hAve free speech”. Personally in terms of voting I disagree. Here’s a fact. Did you know there are more than two major parties in America? You probably didn’t know that, mostly because the media is only giving coverage to Biden and trump, and while yes Biden is better than trump, he has had his fair share of hypocrisy during the presidential race. So in conclusion I feel voters should know their choices and how it affects their country

  7. I think that something that I would like to fight for is the dress code being less strict for women. For example, we can’t wear crop tops, ripped jeans, spaghetti straps, etc. I feel that this is very unfair because instead of teaching boys to be respectful of women, they tell women to cover up. And this is something that I think is very disrespectful to all women and girls.

    1. This is something people need to understand! You make great points, it is very unfair how people disrespect women and girls just based on what they wear.

    2. Yes I totally agree, our dress code should not revolve around making sure it's not "distracting" for guys. I don't understand how showing a shoulder can be distracting, it's a freaking shoulder?!

    3. I completely agree with this!! I hate how schools tell girls to cover up instead of teaching boys the right things. Great blog :)

  8. I think we should fight for schools teaching us more realistic stuff like how to get a job or how to do taxes because certain people are extremly stressed about stuff like taxes, debt, and their jobs because they were never taught that in school. In school we are taught how to disect a frog but we aren't taught how to do basic first aid in most schools, or how to manage your money so we are just kind of stressing out over everything when we get to university since we have no clue how to do any of this stuff because we were never taught about it.

    1. You made an excellent point in your blog! I do agree we should learn more realistic stuff like how to get a job or how to do taxes for later on! Good job on your Blog! :)

  9. Something that I fight for is the way the school system determines your grade. The way that schools determine what level you are at is by teaching something, then giving a test. What you get on this test will determine how “smart you are''. Tests are about how well you can memorise something in a course of so many days and then rewrite all that info on a piece of paper in under an hour. Honestly tests don't really help you that much, they put unnecessary stress on students. You can understand what you are learning but because you are nervous your memory will go blank.

  10. I think that people should fight for endangered animals because they really make an impact on the environment and the food chain which includes us humans. Animals are going extinct mostly because of us and we should try to help them more. All animals have an impact on us and when too many go extinct everything will start to die because their source of food or whatever is dead.

  13. Some that I think we as humans should fight for is animal abuse. Recently my dog Stewie escaped and got in to someone's back yard. Now what I'm about to say is going against the point I'm going to make but what she was doing was illegal and shouldn't of happen to Stewie. Anyway this lady was breeding her own chickens in her backyard which according to the law for Baie Durfe is illegal, anyways Stewie killed two of the chickens but they had at least six still in there backyard and my neighbor's told me that they have seen many chickens run away before. So we went to her house because we were told he was there and when we got this women with all her might was beating up are dog with a metal shovel! And I never again want to see are family dog in that type of pain ever again. Sorry how long my blog is whos ever marking or reading it.

  14. I think something we should be fighting for a lot more is equality. The world we live in just isn’t fair and you will always be hated on unless you're a straight, white man. It truly sucks that this is the way we live right now, but we are the generation that can change it. With everyone’s cooperation, we can make this world a much better place.

  15. I think something we should fight for is equality.I think this is super important because everyone deserves to be treated the same no matter what race, looks, gender, sexuality E.T.C Everyone should be giving and receiving the same respect and fairness. This is important to me because I think it would stop so much negativity in life if everyone was treated equally and had rights.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think something we should be fighting for and continue to fight for is women's rights. Times have changed and women have gained more equality but regardless if people choose to acknowledge it or not, there are situations where women are treated like lesser beings than men. Such as in some countries, women lack access to receive an education, inadequate health care, lower pay, etc. Women are just as qualified, if not more qualified than men to receive these things if they please. Another big issue is domestic and sexual violence against women. Men think because of the way a women dresses “They are asking for it”, no, a women should be able to dress however she pleases and not have to fear about these kinds of things. It’s her body, therefore it’s her decision on what she chooses to wear, and no one can tell her otherwise.

  17. I think we should be fighting for women's rights. These rights include the right to live free from violence, slavery, and discrimination; to be educated; to own property; to vote; and to earn a fair and equal wage. Women are entitled to all of these rights. Yet almost everywhere around the world, women and girls are still denied to them, often simply because of their gender. Women's rights are important to me because I am a girl who wants men and women to have equal rights, and when I grow up I don't want to be treated like the women now are.

  18. I think we should be fighting for animal rights. Animals should be as important as humans. I don't just mean cats and dogs, I mean wild animals too like skunks, foxes and raccoons. I find it very sad when I see a forest being cut down, or a field cleared for new homes to be built as I know many wild animals will be losing the wildlife space they called home. What's even more upsetting is knowing that when the poor skunk ends up living under someone's deck they are captured and moved away, or worse killed by other animals or road traffic.

I also feel strongly that zoos and aquariums should no longer exist, it is very sad to see animals enclosed in small spaces when they should be free in nature. We are taking these poor animals out of their natural habitats just so people can look at them all day.

  19. I think something we should fight for is children without homes and support. This is important to me because if I were one of those children who are without support and without a home I would feel very alone. I think I’m very lucky to have a family who I know I can count on to always be there no matter what. I would want that for everybody on the planet. Having people you can count on is very important because feeling safe and supported can make you much happier. Having people around me makes me very happy so that’s why I think we should fight for children without homes and support.

  20. I think we should fight for teen girls. Since I am also a teen girl this may sound biased but it is true. Teen girls have a bunch of expectations to live up to and are categorized and judged constantly. We are judged based on what we wear, what our body looks like, how we talk, our intelligence, etc. We have to fight to get rid of beauty standards and understand that everyone is beautiful. We are told what we can and can’t wear and when we make a decision we are told that our style is awful, or that our outfit is too distracting. We need to fight and not listen to people who say it is too distracting for boys but what people should be saying is that we should let girls feel beautiful in what they want to wear and educate boys on how to respect girls.

  22. I think that we should fight for all minorities. All people deserve to live life the same way, healthy and in a safe environment. Unfortunately, not everyone lives this way, which is why it's important to me that one day, everyone will have the same (safe) rights as others, and everyone will be safe. Its also important that we show others who dont treat minorities correct that theyre truly awful people, and unfortunately, some of them will never change.

  23. I think something we should fight for even more than we do now is equal rights. I think we should fight for equal rights because it consumes a lot of people. It can mean fighting for women's rights and equality for men. We can also fight for racial equality such as black people not being treated the same as white.
