On January 6, 2021, all hell broke loose at the Washington Capitol.

Hooligans started rioting. Pro-Trump civilians broke windows and made a mess of the Capitol.

One woman was shot and killed.

President Trump could have ended this, but chose to tweet about how much he loved his people.

Did you hear about these events?

What are your thoughts about Trump and his people?

What should happen to the rioters? What should happen to Trump?

Explain.

  1. I think what happend to the Capitol bulding was an inside job considering the Capitol is supposed to be one of the most secure buildings in America but somehow rioters were invited in by some police officers and ended up destroying the congress and steeling and committing crimes in the Capitol and not getting arrested. During summer break when there was the black lives matter protests, police were more then ready to shoot people with rubber bullets and tear gas for peacefully protesting and protesting itself. It's sad to say but if these were black people rioting there would most likely be more death's and a lot more injuries and probably no one could of entered the capitol. But how does it make sence that trump supporters walked in the capitol and stole iteams and got sent home without any arrests? More people died protesting to have equality then trump supporters to keep white supremacy. Trump himself is the cause and after all the crimes he comited he should definatly be arrested for multiple crimes.

    1. I agree that it might've been an inside job.

  2. Considering that this was all over the news, I definitely heard about it and it’s so beyond annoying how the rioters were treated. Trump was acting as if nothing was happening and he was acting as if the rioters were very peaceful. However, somebody died, and Trump just acted like everything was okay. If it were any other riot, his reaction would be completely different. And just think about this, Trump had the ability to end it all, however, he decided to show how much he appreciated every single one of them. And the White House has maximum security levels, so how come the rioters just managed to get in so easily? Trump honestly could have set this up because he’s still throwing a tantrum because he lost the election, so for all we know, it could’ve been planned.

    1. That's a really interesting point that Trump might have set it up. Great blog!

    2. Yes Trump is making the whole situation worse by encouraging them and the people listen to him.

  3. I think that what happened at the capitol was really bad. And what Trump did was immensely bad too. At least he got banned from social media for starting violence but the problem is that he is still the president until the 20th, now he still has a lot of power so maybe when Biden takes over we can start seeing some legal things happen with Trump because we all know its not the first time he did this. Of course this time it was a lot more direct. I really don't know what should happen to Trump's people and his rioters.

    1. i mean I *did* hear (emphasis on hear, im not sure) that the second trump is done in office, hes running as far away as he can. Interesting points that youve made btw!

    2. It would make sense that Trump would run. he committed tax evasion so the IRS is coming for him the second he steps out of office. Great Blog!

  4. Those rioters and Trump should be arrested. People have gotten killed, badly hurt etc. Trump is making it all worse by encouraging the horrible behaviour of the rioters. They aren't even protesting they are just breaking things because something didn't go there way. No one is being arrested which is horrible. They are actually doing illegal things but other protests like the black lives matter, so many people were being arrested, tear gassed just because they wanted equality.

  5. Yes I did hear about this since it was all over the news and it was on the radio. I think that Trump and his people are jealous and are swore losers, at least thats what they are acting like. I think that they should be arrested because if they aren't, then other people are going to think its ok to do what they did, which it isn't, its illegal.

  6. I think almost everyone has heard about it, and its suprising that there isnt a unaminous agreement on what should be done. Trump and his people are clearly trying to pull a stunt. If they lose, they want to go out in flames. In fact have you heard of the bills that have been rapidly changing in america, like the ones that create more tension in the east? This is just showing that trump is rushed for time, so he is trying to make america's state look bad when biden comes in so trump supporters can accuse biden of being a bad president. But hey, thats just a theory, A GAME THEORY (if yall dont get that reference i stg-)

  7. I heard about the events on the news and Youtube and social media. I think that Trump and his people should be sore losers and no one like sore losers (L to them honestly) The rioters should be inside, charge with a fee and be on house arrest. Trump should honestly should leave America because of his sick and stupid attitude.

    1. I agree some people just can't accept losing and take it to another level that is way over the top. Good blog :))

  8. The fact that this was all organized by a butt hurt idiot that the Americans have to call their president is beyond me. They called the BLM protests riots and vice versa for this situation. The rioters should be arrested, just like about 1400 BLM protesters wrongfully were, but so far we have only detained 82 of them. Out of all the hundreds of people attending this attack with weapons and were definitely planning on hurting some senators they disagreed with, only 82 were arrested. The rioters were planning on burning the electoral votes. Trump needs to be arrested for orchestrating this as well.

  9. Honestly I thought it was a joke at first. It's so ridiculous and crazy how politics are that important and acknowledged in the United States. I think Trump should be impeached (even though he's not going to be president in like a week) for basically being the leader of a group of extremists. All the rioters who caused damaged should be arrested. Trump and his idiots are turning America into a place where if you have a different opinion you will be killed or harmed in some way. The United States were never super safe and now people are even more scared because some people don't think others could have another opinion. It's really sad.

  10. While this was happening I was getting brief updates from my dad and my brother, Rowan. Practically whenever I walked by them they told me about it. I think what Trump and his people are is straight out unreasonable and really stupid. I can see how Trump would be devastated from losing the election, but he’s acting like he is in primary school. I am well aware that the government can not put all of the rioters in jail but they should at least be fined for their jurassic behavior, I mean, there was a woman who was SHOT and KILLED. Trump on the other hand, (I must admit) played his words right (surprisingly) so he would not be framed for the intrusion of the capitol, but he still implied for the trump supporters to raid. But Trump has done unforgivable things that he should’ve gotten arrested for. In conclusion, I’m just glad that America has a much better president now.

  11. I did hear about these events a lot on the news, and I generally heard people talking about it. I think that Trump and his people have gone crazy at this point and are making really unnecessary decisions that are turning America into a place that isn't safe anymore and at this point in time, I definitely wouldn't want to live there. I feel that something should definitely happen to the rioters like a big fine for the terrible things that they did because they are just making America look bad.

  12. I do hear about events like this from the news. I think that Trump and his people have a very complicated relationship but that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If the Trump fans still want to believe in Trump that people should let them. The only thing that is a bit crazy is that the pro-Trump fans raged a riot on the capital building. That is extremely unacceptable and I hate that no one will really get punished for it. I think that the people who participated in the riot should get fined because you can’t send that many people to jail. By sending a lot of people to jail it would just take up space and there would be a higher chance of a COVID outbreak in the jail/prison. I think that Trump should be kicked out of the white house since he is no longer president but it is not my decision to make. I think that this event was very tragic and it’s very unfortunate that someone died.

  13. I was watching this event live on BBC news when it happened and often I do hear about these events because like I said I watch the news a lot. I have the same opinion as many others do about Trump. Apparently 78 million Americans do too, I don't like him for many reasons whether it's that he sent an attack at the Washington Capital or how terribly he dealt with the pandemic. What proves that people dislike him, is that 78 million is the highest amount of votes for a candidate in the Presidential election ever. For the rioters and President Trump, I think they've already dealt with the rioters implanting an curfew so early but for Trump I don't think you have to do anything because if you didn't know Trump has many criminal charges and will go to jail any way by the way this isn't a conspiracy there solid evidence.

  14. I heard the events and I was totally shocked. What they did was absolutely disgusting. And the fact the trump is such a bad person that he was supportive makes me want to throw up. He is one of the most problematic humans in the wolrd. I think the riotors should be put in jail and I think trump should lose all the rights ex presidents get (security, etc) because he deserves nothing.

  15. I was watching it all go down live when it was happening. I think that Trump and anyone who participated in the riot should be charged and imprisoned. Let's be honest, it was domestic terrorism. Storming a government building and and taking computers and drives, shooting at cops and breaking windows. This isn't something in their right mind would do, and the trumpies who did it don't think they did anything wrong because the leader they look up to and worship like a god is approving of it and saying that he loves the people who were doing that. I think that they should at least spend time in prison, because if this was anyone but the trumpies the entire force of the USA would have hit them, but Trump wouldn't let them deploy the national guard until it was too late, when people override him and deployed it.

  16. I don’t really watch the news so I didn’t know alot about the riot, but my parents told me how they broke in and started raiding the place. I think that they should be ashamed and especially trump, because it was almost like he was encouraging them. I think that the police should have done more about it and tried to fine everyone there. I don’t really know if you can throw the president in jail but that is what they should have done. To me all the little crimes he has done can equal into a big one.

  17. It was almost impossible not to hear about them considering they were posted on almost every social media. ’m 100% not a fan of Trump or his people. Most people who follow Trump are homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc. The rioters should defiantly be given a hefty fine or better put in jail. You’d think there would have been better security guarding the Capitol but clearly we underestimate them. Security didn't try as hard as they should've to stop the raiders but during the BLM protest there was way tighter security and some police were more then ready to shoot people with rubber bullets, tear gas, etc, and this was a peaceful protest. Not to mention how disrespectful some white rioters were towards black lives during the raid, they had the audacity to re-create the death of George Floyd on the Capitol’s steps. It was absolutely disgusting.

  18. I did hear about this event. I couldn't believe what was happening. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the tv. Trump and his people take too many things too far. I mean sure, it's sad for them that he didn't get re-elected, but making a mess of the capitol, takes it too far. I think they should try and find all the rioters they can and give them a fine. It's absolutely ridiculous! And Trump should never be allowed to run for president again. I don't think he was good leader to begin with, and then this? I'm disgusted.

  19. I heard about it when my father came because he follows the news. I think there are better ways to protest then resorting violence and destruction. I think that Trump should have definitely made them stop but instead he decided to tweet how great it was. The rioters should probably be given a warning and if they riot again they get arrested. I think that in a few days, once Trump is no longer president, he will probably have a bunch of different lawsuits against him which he has avoided up to now with his presidential power.

    ReplyDelete
  20. yes I heard about this happening.I was very shocked but didn't fully understand the situation at the same time.I think the rioters had no place to take things far like that, they are aloud to protest but it crosses the line when people get hurt.I think trump is very immature ,stubborn snd selfish and he handled the situation horribly.
